David “Dave” C. Boettcher, age 89 of Clintonville passed away Wednesday evening May 8, 2024 surrounded by family at Care Partners in Clintonville.

David Carl Boettcher was born on November 24, 1934 in the Town of Matteson, Waupaca County as the son of the late Edward and Esther (Barkow) Boettcher. David was born deaf which created many obstacles throughout his life, but he never let that slow him down. After his father re-married, David was blessed to have a wonderful step-mother, Mary (Janke) Boettcher become part of his life. He attended Wisconsin School for the Deaf as a young child and he was baptized and confirmed at St. Martin Lutheran Church in town where he attended grade school. David met Patsy “Pat” Heidke on a blind date and they were united in marriage on September 13, 1969 at St. Martin. Early on, David worked at the Hortonville Toy Factory for a few years, however, most will remember David and Patsy on the dairy farm that they operated in Matteson while also serving as custodians for St. Martin for many years. David loved to collect “junk” and sell it; and was often the local go to guy for any metal recycling tasks. He was a goofy but hard working guy, loved onions on almost anything, was affectionately known by his family as the “fire warden” as he burned stuff all the time, and was very protective of his 4 daughters. David enjoyed deer hunting, tending to his beehives, meeting new friends as a member of the Green Bay Deaf Club, and watching the Packers and Brewers.

Survivors include: His Wife: Patsy “Pat” Boettcher.
Daughters: Elizabeth (LaDale) Neal, Sarah (Larry) Czarnecki, Ruth (Jeff) Darga, and Joy (Jamie) Wudstrack.
Grandchildren: Francois (Laura) Montbrun, Jade Czarnecki, Rose Darga, and Liam & Roman Wudstrack.
Great-Grandchild: Genevieve Montbrun.
Also His Brother: Robert (Rita) Boettcher.

David was preceded in death by his parents Edward, Mary, and Esther Boettcher, and his sister Jeanette (Keith) Froelich.
