

Allen L. Collins, 73, Green Bay, passed away Monday morning, January 2, 2023, surrounded by family at a local hospital. He was born May 28, 1949, in Green Bay to the late Milton Henry and Gloria Mae (Molzahn) Collins. Allen was a graduate of Wisconsin School For the Deaf, Class of 1967. He worked for the Green Bay Beverage Co, known as the Pop Shop on Cass Street. After the business closed, he worked for Prevea (formerly Beaumont) until his retirement in 2007. Allen was an active member of Preble Park Presbyterian Church and served the church as its janitor. He had also been a deacon of the church. Allen was a member of Neville Public Museum Astronomical Society. His interest in astronomy began when he was 12 years old, after he read a book called, The Nine Planets. It then became his passion and hobby to learn more about the universe. Allen shared his knowledge with family and friends. He also enjoyed reading materials on National Parks, the weather, classic movies, the Packers, and reading the Bible. Spending time with his family was most important to him. He is survived by his brother, Melvin Collins; sister, Janice (Jeff) Bielinski; and two nephews, Shaun Bielinski and Aaron Bielinski. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles. Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 9; Funeral Service to follow at 7 p.m. All those in attendance are asked to wear a mask that properly covers the nose and mouth. Entombment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
